Perfect Potatoes (Patatas)
Ingredients
- 5 Large potatoes
- 1 tablespoon Turmeric
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 1 tablespoon Cornflour
- 1 tablespoon Chicken grill seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Crushed garlic
- half cup Olive oil
- half tablespoon Onion powder (optional)
Preparation
1. Wash the potatoes.2. Cut into wedges (see the photos below).
3. Mix the spices well, taste a little and adjust the flavors.
For frying option:
Heat deep oil and fry until golden.
For baking option:
1. Place in a pot with water, a teaspoon of salt and a tablespoon of turmeric. (The water should cover the potatoes).
2. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat and cook for another approx. 10-15 minutes, until the potatoes start to soften slightly.
3. Drain the potatoes from the liquids, arrange on baking paper in a pan and let them cool slightly.
4. Pour the spice mixture and 5 tablespoons of oil, preferably olive oil, over the potatoes, and mix carefully so as not to damage the shape of the potatoes.
5. Put into an oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake until nicely browned.
For those who like their potatoes crispier, you can set the oven to turbo for a few minutes before taking them out.
Bon appétit :)
