Terms of Use – Recipeat
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This is an English translation of the Hebrew Terms of Use. If there is any difference between the versions, the Hebrew version prevails.
1. General
Welcome to Recipeat (רספיט), a social recipe website and apps, owned and operated by Tomer Ofer (Netdesign) (hereinafter: "Recipeat" or the "Service"). The Service includes the website recipeat.me and the Recipeat apps for Android and iOS.
The Hebrew original of these Terms of Use (hereinafter also: the "Agreement" or the "Terms") is drafted in the masculine form for convenience only, and the Terms apply equally to all genders. The Terms were written in language that everyone can understand, and by using the Service you accept them as written and in full, after having understood their content, and you will have no claim that you did not understand their meaning. Section headings are for convenience and orientation only and shall not be used to interpret the Terms.
We will be happy to help with any question or clarification by email at [email protected].
Nothing in this Agreement derogates from or modifies any other agreement between Recipeat and you. The terms of the Agreement do not create, and shall not be construed as creating, a partnership, joint venture, employer-employee, agency or franchise relationship between the parties. Any provision of this Agreement that is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of the Agreement.
2. Acceptance of the Terms of Use
Please read carefully: by browsing the website, installing the app, registering for the Service, signing in to an account or making any use of the content and services, you declare that you have read and understood the terms of the Agreement and that you agree to all the terms set out in it and to every notice displayed in the Service. Use of the Service is subject to this consent. If you do not agree to any of the terms of the Agreement, you must refrain from any use of the Service and remove the app from your device.
These Terms of Use define the entire relationship between Recipeat and the user. Recipeat is not a party to any business, financial or other relationship between one user and another, or between a user and an advertiser in the Service.
You declare and undertake that you are legally competent and authorized to enter into this Agreement and that you are at least 18 years old. Since the Terms of Use are a binding legal agreement, it is recommended that you read them carefully and, on that basis, decide whether to accept them and use the Service.
The content may contain wording errors, typos, inaccuracies and the like, and Recipeat shall not be liable for any damage caused or that may be caused to the user or to any third party in connection with such errors.
The Terms of Use apply to access to the website and the apps and to any use of them, including the information, content and services appearing in them or in links to other sources of information provided in them, as well as to any submission of information, and they form the legal basis for any engagement or action within their framework.
3. Definitions
- "Recipeat" / the "Service": the website recipeat.me, the Recipeat apps for Android and iOS, and the services provided through them; depending on the context, also the operator of the Service, Tomer Ofer (Netdesign), his employees, representatives and anyone acting on his behalf.
- "User": anyone who browses the Service, registers for it, opens an account, or performs any activity through it, or anyone acting on their behalf.
- "Use": reading recipes, publishing recipes, commenting on them, marking them as "Like", saving recipes, following other users, and any other use of the Service.
- "Content": information of any kind, including textual, visual, audio or audio-visual content, or any combination thereof, as well as its design, processing, editing, distribution and manner of display.
- "User Content": content that a user uploads, publishes or sends in the Service, including recipes, images and comments.
- "Saved from the web": a private list in the user's account containing recipes that the user saved from external sources, as detailed in section 13.
4. The Service
Recipeat is a social service for sharing recipes for preparing food and drinks, on the website and in apps for smartphones and tablets. Within the Service the user can, among other things: publish recipes and images, comment on recipes, mark recipes as "Like" (heart) and save them in favorites, manage a personal recipe book, follow other users' recipe books, receive notifications about activity that concerns them, and privately save recipes they found on social networks and other websites.
Users are welcome to publish recipes they made themselves, found on the internet, heard from others and so on – as long as they respect the copyright and the rights of third parties in them, if any.
Use of the Service is currently free of charge. However, Recipeat reserves the right, at any stage and at its sole discretion, to determine that access to the Service, in whole or in part, or additional components of it, will require payment, and the user will have no claim against Recipeat in this regard. Any charge to a user will require the user's explicit prior consent.
5. Changes or Updates to These Terms
Recipeat may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Notice of material changes will be given in the Service. The binding version is the version published in the Service at the time of use, and therefore, before performing any action in the Service, the user is asked to carefully read the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. Continued use of the Service after the update constitutes consent to the Terms as updated. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must refrain from any use of the Service.
Date of the last update of these Terms: 1 November 2026.
6. Restrictions on Use of the Service
The Service may not be used where its use is not permitted under local law. The use of the content, reliance on it and acting upon it may be restricted or even prohibited under the laws of various countries, and therefore each user must check, before use, whether the law that applies to them permits the use of the Service and what manner of use is permitted.
Use of the Service is permitted for lawful purposes only, and only to legally competent users over the age of 18 or to corporations. The user declares that they meet these conditions.
7. Registration, Account and Security
7.1 Registering as a User
Registration for the Service is done with a name, email address and password, or with a Google account. Passkeys can be added to the account, and two-step verification can be enabled using an authenticator app (TOTP) with recovery codes. Sign-in with Facebook is no longer offered. Recipeat may from time to time allow sign-in with additional or different means of identification, under terms it will set.
The user undertakes that the details they provided are true and accurate, and to update them in the profile if they change. The account is intended for the personal and exclusive use of the user, who may not transfer the right of use to another person. The user is solely responsible for keeping confidential the password, the recovery codes and the devices on which their passkeys are stored, undertakes not to disclose them to any third party, and bears full responsibility for any action taken in their account, whether or not it was taken with their authorization. The user must notify Recipeat without delay of any unauthorized use of their account.
It is forbidden to register another person without their consent, or not in their presence and after the Terms of Use have been explained to them. The user declares that they are aware that Recipeat has no ability to check, screen or filter those who register for the Service.
7.2 Device Permissions
The app may request, subject to the user's approval and the device's features, access to the camera and photos (to take and attach photos to recipes and to save them in the gallery), permission to send notifications, and use of the device's biometric identification (such as Face ID or fingerprint) to approve signing in with a passkey. Biometric identification takes place on the device itself and is not transferred to Recipeat. The app does not request access to the device's location. Refusing a permission may prevent certain features from working.
7.3 Quality of Operation
The Service operates over the internet, and without an internet connection, or with a slow connection, certain features may not work or may not work properly. The user is solely responsible for arranging and paying for such a connection and for any service, equipment or device they need in order to access the Service.
7.4 License Granted
Subject to the user's compliance with the Terms of Use, Recipeat grants the user a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-assignable, non-sublicensable, non-commercial license, revocable at any time, for private use of the Service, the content and the services on a mobile device or computer owned or controlled by the user (hereinafter: the "License"). The user is also permitted to save images appearing in the Service on the device on which they use the Service, without removing Recipeat's trademarks or any other mark or information appearing on them.
The License does not transfer to the user any right in or in connection with the Service, other than a limited right to use it in accordance with the Terms, the Privacy Policy and any law. Use of the Service does not grant the user any ownership or other right in Recipeat's intellectual property, other than a right expressly granted to them and the right to make reasonable and fair use of the Service for the purpose for which it is intended. Use of the Service is also subject to the terms of use of the app stores and of your device.
8. Availability of the Service, Content and Services
The availability and functioning of the Service depend on many factors that are not under Recipeat's control, including software, hardware, communication networks, service providers, subcontractors and other third parties (including cloud hosting and mobile service providers). Recipeat shall not be liable for damage caused as a result of a disruption or malfunction that is not under its control, provided it made reasonable efforts to prevent it.
9. Liability for the Service
The Service is intended to be available at all times, but Recipeat cannot guarantee continuous availability, without malfunctions and without "downtime". Recipeat may suspend the Service from time to time for maintenance, upgrades and reorganization. No monetary compensation or credit will be given for malfunctions or interruptions in the Service.
The user declares that they are aware that damage or losses may occur as a result of the materialization of risks inherent in the telephone network, the internet and computer systems, and that Recipeat shall not be liable for them, including damage or losses due to: viruses; Trojan horses; wiretapping of communication lines; hacking into databases, servers, phones, the telephone network or computers; impersonation of the Service or its owners; online fraud and scams; crashes and interruptions in the activity of the Service; disruptions or malfunctions in communication lines; temporary or permanent shutdown of the Service, in whole or in part; downloading and using software and apps that may be made available through the Service; and the like.
Recipeat does not guarantee that the Service will not be disrupted, suspended or interrupted, or that it will be immune to damage, faults, failures or malfunctions in hardware, software or communications, at Recipeat or at any of its suppliers, for any reason whatsoever. The user is aware of and takes into account that the Service may not be available at all times, or at all, or that its availability may be partial, limited or problematic, or that it may not function properly, and the user will have no claim against Recipeat or against any party associated with the Service for any such event that is not under its control or that it could not have prevented with reasonable effort.
Recipeat shall not be liable for any delay, difficulty in use, inaccuracy of information, virus or defect in the Service, nor for any problem or damage caused to the user due to factors that are not under its control or that it could not have prevented with reasonable effort.
Recipeat shall not be liable for incompatibility issues between the Service and the user's phone, computer or other device. By using the Service, the user confirms that they have checked the compatibility of the Service with the device on which they use it and its possible effect on the device, and they will have no claim against Recipeat for damage that may be caused, if caused, to the device, to the means of communication they used, to content or an application installed on it, or to others as a result. The user is responsible for ensuring that viruses or other harmful elements do not penetrate their devices or those of others, and Recipeat is exempt from any liability in this matter.
Subject to the above, Recipeat shall have no tort, contractual or other liability towards the user or any third party arising from the use of the Service or from reliance on information contained in it, unless otherwise stated in a document between Recipeat and the user. Without derogating from the above, Recipeat shall not compensate the user or any third party for loss of profits, loss of opportunities, or any indirect, special, consequential or incidental damage (even if the user warned Recipeat of expected damage or loss), nor with any punitive damages, caused in connection with the use of the Service or with the content appearing in it.
Recipeat and anyone acting on its behalf shall not be liable for any damage caused as a result of using the Service and of any display or publication of content in the Service, including malfunctions in the operating system or software on the device, hardware problems, viruses and malicious software, and the quality or speed of use of the Service.
The content in the Service, including the recipes, is provided for use as is ("as-is"). The user shall have no claim, suit or demand against Recipeat or anyone acting on its behalf regarding the characteristics of the content, its capabilities, its limitations or its suitability for the user's needs, including regarding ingredients, allergens, nutritional values or the result of preparing a recipe. Use of the Service and the content is the sole and full responsibility of the user.
Any contact between a user and other users, in comments, in the Service or outside it, is the sole responsibility of the user. In no event shall Recipeat be liable for the results of such contact, including for physical, mental, financial, emotional and other damage.
The user shall have no claim, demand or suit against Recipeat other than claims of breach of explicit undertakings given in these Terms of Use. Recipeat shall not be liable for any damage caused in connection with or as a result of the use of the Service, except for liability expressly stated in the Agreement or under provisions of law that cannot be contracted out of. Recipeat and anyone acting on its behalf shall not be liable for any damage caused due to misuse, malfunction, use not for the purpose for which the Service is intended, wear and tear, damage to third-party products, or damage caused to any device while using the Service.
10. Changes to the Service
Recipeat reserves the right to make changes to the Service, including extensions, removals, improvements, adjustments and any other change, at its sole discretion and without the need for prior notice, including changing the structure of the Service, its appearance, the scope and availability of the services and content provided in it, and discontinuing the operation of the Service, in whole or in part. These changes, including discontinuation of operation, may be permanent or temporary, due to Recipeat's considerations or due to the conduct of a third party. The user shall have no claim, suit or demand against Recipeat in connection with such changes or with malfunctions that occur while they are carried out.
If the Service is discontinued, Recipeat shall not be liable towards the user or towards any third party for damage or loss resulting from the discontinuation of the Service. Recipeat will notify users of material changes in the manner it determines (including a notice in the Service), subject to any law. Recipeat may at any time turn a free feature into a paid feature; however, any charge to a user will require the user's explicit prior consent.
11. No Obligation to Provide Services
The information published in the Service regarding Recipeat's services is intended to present in general terms the options it offers, and does not constitute an offer to enter into an agreement, an invitation to make an offer, or a representation for the purpose of a transaction, and it does not create any obligation on Recipeat's part to provide any service or product, or to provide it on the terms described in the Service. Only what is recorded in documents signed by Recipeat shall bind it. Recipeat may consider any request to receive a service and decide at its sole discretion whether to provide it and on what terms.
12. User Content and Permitted Use
The content in the Service is intended for personal use only and is not intended for commercial use. It is forbidden to copy, publicly display, transfer to a third party or make any other use of the content of the Service other than as part of using it, without Recipeat's prior written consent. The user undertakes to use the Service lawfully only, in accordance with these Terms and any law.
Recipeat may display in the Service marketing material and content on its own behalf, including promotions, benefits, discounts and details about products and services ("Marketing Material"), on terms it will set, and may discontinue or change them at any time at its sole discretion.
As part of using the Service, the user is invited to upload and publish recipes, images, comments and other content of their own (hereinafter: "their content"). The user is solely responsible for their content and for the use they make of content uploaded by other users, as well as for obtaining all the consents required for that purpose, and must ensure that their content complies with these Terms of Use and with the provisions of any law. Subject to any law, the user undertakes to monitor the content uploaded from their account and to bear full responsibility for it. Recipeat has no ability to control the use a user makes of another user's content.
Recipeat does not undertake to check or filter user content and shall bear no liability whatsoever for a user's content. However, Recipeat may, by itself or through its content moderators and at its sole discretion, filter, block, edit, hide, unpublish or remove any user content, and change the way it is displayed in the Service. In the event of a suspected breach of these provisions, Recipeat may suspend or cancel the Service for the user immediately, without derogating from any other remedy available to it under any law or agreement.
The user declares and undertakes that Recipeat is not and will not be responsible for their content, and that:
- 12.1they hold all the licenses, waivers and consents required in connection with their content for uploading it to the Service and granting Recipeat the rights to use it;
- 12.2Recipeat is not and will not be required to pay anything (including royalties) to any party for the use of their content or its display in the Service;
- 12.3they grant Recipeat a worldwide, non-exclusive, transferable and sublicensable license to use, copy and edit their content for the purpose of operating the Service and performing these Terms of Use, without any obligation to pay royalties or any other payment. By publishing the content in the Service, or by giving another instruction to that effect, the license also authorizes Recipeat to distribute the content, make it available to the public and broadcast it;
- 12.4they waive towards Recipeat any moral right in their content, and undertake that they have obtained such a waiver for Recipeat from every author of their content.
13. Saved from the web
The Service allows the user to save, in a private list in their account, recipes they found on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube or any other website: by sharing a link, pasting a link or text, or typing manually, with up to 10 images per recipe.
- The recipes in this list are private: they are visible only to the user, are not published in the Service and are not shared with other users. Recipeat does not publish them.
- Saving is intended for the user's personal, non-commercial use only. Saving does not transfer to the user or to Recipeat any right in the saved content, and the rights in it remain with their owners.
- The user is solely responsible for being permitted to save the content from the platform or website where they found it for their personal use, in accordance with the law and the terms of use of that platform. It is forbidden to upload to the list content that the user is not permitted to possess or save.
- Reading a recipe from a link is done automatically, by an extraction service operated for Recipeat that uses artificial intelligence (Google's Gemini), as detailed in the Privacy Policy. The result may be partial or incorrect, and the user is responsible for checking and correcting it. Recipeat is not responsible for the accuracy of the extracted recipe.
14. Reporting and Removal of Content
Recipeat is careful to comply with the law and respects the rights of users and others. A user can report a recipe, comment or user using the reporting option in the Service. Anyone who believes that content published in the Service is offensive, infringes their copyright or another intellectual property right of theirs, or violates the law, may also contact us by email at [email protected] and request its removal, together with details that make it possible to identify the content and the claim.
Recipeat reserves full discretion in examining the lawfulness or harmfulness of the content requested to be removed, and in deciding whether or not to remove it.
15. Excessive Use of Resources
Recipeat reserves the right to allocate to the user, in certain cases, a predefined amount of use (including the number of recipes, images or actions). The user undertakes not to burden the Service or its servers with unreasonable use or with use on a scale that is not suitable for private use that is not business or commercial.
In such a case, Recipeat may inform the user of the excess, by email or other notice, and demand that within 24 hours the user reduce the scope of use to a reasonable private scope of use, as it defines in its notice. If the excess continues for more than 24 hours from the sending of the notice, the user's use of the Service will be discontinued. If the excess impairs Recipeat's ability to provide service to its other users, the user will be charged by a payment demand sent to them, without derogating from any other remedy available to Recipeat, including claiming its damages.
16. Prohibited Uses
Without derogating from the generality of the above and subject to the provisions of any law, the user declares and undertakes that they will not use the Service for any of the following:

18. Third-Party Information, Links and Advertisements
Certain information and data in the Service, including user content, may be received, directly or indirectly, from third parties, and are the sole responsibility of their creators. This content is provided as is, without any undertaking or warranty, express or implied. Recipeat does not guarantee that it will be correct, accurate, up to date or free of errors, and does not guarantee its continued publication. Recipeat does not check its reliability, accuracy or source, and shall bear no liability in connection with it, including for changes made to it after its publication.

A user who leaves the Service through a link, or uses content that is not on behalf of Recipeat, does so at their own risk only, and Recipeat shall not be liable for any damage, loss or invasion of privacy resulting from this. It is recommended to read the terms of use and privacy policy of such websites and apps and to act with the necessary caution.
Recipeat allows and may allow third parties to manage the advertising system in the Service (currently Google AdSense on the website). Within this framework, the user may be shown offers, content, links or advertisements of third parties, which collect information about them, including by means of cookies, for the purpose of information analysis and ad personalization, in accordance with their privacy policy. In addition, the Service sends operational messages relating to the account, by email (such as verification and password reset) and by notifications to the device (such as a comment or "Like" on the user's recipe). Notifications can be turned off in the device or browser settings.
Recipeat may run promotions and grant benefits, discounts or coupon codes from time to time at its sole discretion, and discontinue them at any time, without the user having any claim in this regard. Such benefits are personal and are not transferable to a third party.
Subject to the user's consent and the provisions of law, Recipeat may use the information for the purpose of future contact through Direct Marketing, including providing direct marketing services to its business partners, by any means of communication (existing or future), and for any marketing activity carried out by it alone or in cooperation with others, as detailed in the Privacy Policy. Recipeat shall not be restricted in transferring general, non-identifying information, at its sole discretion.
20. Privacy
Recipeat's Privacy Policy and Statement applies to any use of the Service, and it is in addition to what is stated in these Terms. Use of the Service constitutes consent to its terms.
Without derogating from the above, Recipeat attaches great importance to protecting the user's privacy, does not transfer personal information about the user's actions to a third party except as detailed in the Privacy Policy (including to its service providers), and will refrain from doing so unless it is required to do so by law, or due to a threat that legal action (criminal or civil) will be taken against it for actions the user performed in the Service. In such a case, Recipeat may provide details in accordance with a court order or an instruction of a competent authority.
21. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property, including moral and economic rights, copyrights, trademarks, trade names, patents, designs, trade secrets and any other right in the Service, including, but not limited to, the design, the editing, the manner of presentation and editing of the information in the Service, and the exclusive right in the code of the website and the apps, is the exclusive property of Recipeat or anyone acting on its behalf, or of third parties that have granted Recipeat a license to use them.
Without derogating from the above, the website, the apps, the articles and pages included in them, the classification, arrangement and presentation of the information, the ads and messages sent by Recipeat and any other form of illustration included in them, are the exclusive property of Recipeat, and are protected under any law, including names, titles, computer code, graphics, methods of operation, user lists, and any detail related to the operation of the Service. Nothing in the above derogates from the provisions of section 12 regarding user content.
Except for personal use that is not commercial, business or political, it is forbidden to edit, copy, duplicate, photograph, translate, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, communicate to the public, store in a database, broadcast, modify, adapt, create derivative works from, customize, sell or rent the Service or its content, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, through a third party or in any way and by any means, without the prior written consent of Recipeat or of the other rights holders, as the case may be and subject to the terms of the consent.
The content may be used only for the user's private and personal needs, as distinct from commercial needs. The user may use the content for reading, sharing and saving recipes and commenting on them only. It is forbidden to use the content for any other purpose, including the promotion, marketing and advertising of businesses and commercial entities.
The above is subject, among other things, to the Copyright Law, 5768-2007, the Trade Marks Ordinance [New Version], 5732-1972, and intellectual property law in general. Recipeat may add to any content displayed in the Service its name, its logo or any other caption it deems fit.
Ownership and intellectual property rights in third-party content appearing in the Service, including images, belong to the owners of the content, and may be subject to the terms of use of third parties that have granted Recipeat a license in respect of them ("Third-Party Agreements"). Recipeat does not claim ownership of this content and assumes no responsibility for it. The user confirms that the terms of the Third-Party Agreements, including future changes to them, will bind them in connection with the use of the Service. Anyone whose rights have been infringed may report it as detailed in section 14.
22. Cookies and Local Storage
For its operation, including collecting information about the use of the Service, verifying the user's identity, more convenient and easier use, adapting the Service to the user's needs and preferences and information security, the website uses cookies and the apps store information in local storage on the device (including a copy of the user's private recipes), as detailed in the Privacy Policy.
23. Ending Use and Deleting the Account
The user may stop using the Service at any time, and may also delete their account from within the app or by contacting us by email at [email protected]. Deleting the account is final and cannot be undone, and it deletes, among other things, the account, the recipes the user published and their images, the comments, the favorites, the private recipes they saved and their images, and the devices registered to the account, as detailed in the Privacy Policy.
Without derogating from the generality of the above, Recipeat may terminate or cancel these Terms, or suspend the user's right to access or use the Service, in whole or in part, for any reason whatsoever, including economic viability, with 3 business days' prior notice. If the user's right is cancelled, they must immediately cease any use of the Service.
Recipeat may terminate the engagement immediately and without notice in any of the following cases:
- 23.1the user has not paid Recipeat a payment they owe for services they purchased, if and to the extent they purchased any, after having received notice thereof;

If a provision of the Terms is found by a competent court to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to and bind the parties.
24. Breach of These Terms
Recipeat may at any time suspend, block or immediately terminate the user's access to the Service, to the content or to part of them, temporarily or permanently, at its sole discretion, when there is a suspicion that the user has breached the provisions of the Agreement or the provisions of law, or for reasons of information security and risk management, in addition to any other remedy available to it under any law.

26. Conflict Between These Terms and Other Agreements
Nothing in the Terms of Use derogates from or modifies any other agreement between Recipeat or its owners and the user. The user may be subject to additional terms of use in documents relating to Recipeat's services (the "Additional Terms of Use"). The inclusion of any of the Additional Terms of Use in these Terms does not derogate from the user being subject to the other terms in the Additional Terms of Use.
27. Governing Law
These Terms of Use shall be governed exclusively by Israeli law, regardless of the place where the Service is used, the identity of the user or the identity of the owners of the Service.

A notice sent by registered mail with confirmation of delivery shall be deemed to have reached its destination within three business days from the date it was sent, and a notice delivered by hand – at the time of its delivery. Service of documents by registered mail to the user's registered address or to the address they provided to Recipeat shall constitute lawful service, even if the user does not reside there permanently. The user undertakes to inform Recipeat within 14 days of any change in their address or in other details they provided.
30. General – Additional Provisions
No conduct, waiver, refraining from action, delay or postponement on the part of Recipeat in exercising any of its rights under these Terms or under law shall be deemed a waiver of any right, consent to a breach, or the granting of an extension, modification, cancellation or addition to any term, unless made explicitly, in advance and in writing. Such a delay shall not prevent Recipeat from exercising its rights at a later time.
These Terms do not confer rights on anyone who is not a party to them, and they are not a contract for the benefit of a third party within the meaning of the Contracts (General Part) Law, 5733-1973.
Recipeat may assign this Agreement, in whole or in part, at its sole discretion. The user may not assign or transfer their rights under these Terms to a third party without Recipeat's explicit prior written approval, and any unauthorized assignment shall be void.
