Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 250 grams soft butter
- 150 grams white sugar
- 180 grams dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 360 grams flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- half teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Preparation
Note: The chocolate chips can be dark chocolate, white chocolate, or peanut butter chips (butterscotch). Or even a combination of all three.Cream the butter, vanilla extract and both sugars until light, fluffy and smooth.
Add the eggs one at a time and keep mixing until the mixture is uniform.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda and salt, and add them to the mixer bowl.
Mix until the dough is uniform.
With wet hands, shape small balls so the dough doesn't stick to your hands; a small ice cream scoop can also help with shaping the balls.
Place the balls spaced apart on a baking tray.
Bake at 160°C for about 10 minutes, until the edges of the cookies turn lightly golden.
When you take the cookies out of the oven they will be very soft and crumbly; it's best not to touch them until they cool completely, and then they firm up.
