Cabbage and Mushroom Phyllo Pie
Ingredients
- 1 package frozen phyllo dough
- 1 cabbage
- 1 large onion
- 2 baskets mushrooms
- salt
- black pepper
- 2 tablespoons mushroom soup powder
Preparation
Take the phyllo dough out of the freezer to thaw for 3 hours.Finely shred the cabbage with a mandoline or food processor.
Chop the onion.
Chop the mushrooms.
Fry the onion until golden.
Add the mushrooms and continue frying until there is no more liquid left in the pan.
In a separate pot, cook the cabbage with a quarter cup of water until the cabbage is soft and slightly browned. While the cabbage cooks, check from time to time whether the pot needs more liquid, and if so, add a little boiling water.
Add salt, black pepper and mushroom soup powder to the cabbage.
Mix the cabbage with the mushrooms and let the mixture cool.
Fill the phyllo dough with the cabbage and mushroom mixture.
Bake at 170 degrees for about 45 minutes, until the dough turns slightly golden.
