Spritz Cookies
Ingredients
- 230 grams butter at room temperature
- half cup sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- a quarter teaspoon salt
- 2 cups flour
- for decoration: sugared cherries, various nuts, small colorful sprinkles, jam, etc.
Preparation
Cream the butter and sugar in a mixer until smooth and airy.Add the egg yolks and beat until the mixture is uniform.
Add the vanilla extract and salt and continue mixing.
Add the flour and keep mixing until the mixture is uniform.
Refrigerate the dough for half an hour.
Grease two large, flat baking sheets.
Form two rolls from the dough and place them in the cookie press (picture below).
Hold the cookie press vertically on the baking sheet and press to release the dough.
Add jam, chocolate or various nuts on top of the cookies.
Bake at 170 degrees for 13 minutes.
Notes:
The dough must be cold, neither too soft nor too hard, so that it comes out easily from the cookie press.
Do not line the baking sheets with parchment paper; instead, grease the sheets and bake the cookies directly on them.
