Ingredients
- 1 Fresh (or frozen) number 5 chuck cut, pre-boiled
- 1 basket Mushrooms
- 2 Sliced onions
- quarter cup Oil
- 2 cups Beef broth or plain water
- 1 handful Chopped coriander
- 2 tablespoons Barbecue sauce
- Ground black pepper
- quarter teaspoon White pepper
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 packet Roast gravy powder (I used Osem)
- 1 tablespoon Chicken soup powder
- 1 teaspoon Honey
- 1 cup Boiling water to dissolve the powder
Preparation
First, we start by boiling the meat: a number 5 chuck roast. Sear it briefly with a little oil on all sides and set aside.Boil the meat in about 2 liters of water with a whole onion, a peeled carrot, allspice, bay leaves, a little turmeric and a little ground black pepper. Boil for two hours. Strain the water through a fine sieve and save 2 cups of beef broth in the fridge, meaning the water we boiled the meat in. Chill the meat in the fridge for a few hours or overnight, then slice it.
To make the sauce
===========
Fry the onions in oil until golden. Add the barbecue sauce and the turmeric and stir gently.
Add the meat slices and fry for a minute on each side. Now add the 2 cups of beef broth (you can use plain water).
Add the ground coriander, ground black pepper and white pepper, and cook for half an hour. Then add the mushrooms.
Cook for another quarter of an hour, then prepare the roast gravy powder mixture!
In a small bowl, pour in a cup of boiling water! Add the roast gravy powder, chicken soup powder and honey.
Mix well and add to the pot.
Cook for about another twenty minutes and it's ready!! Good luck, Ilanit Benizri ❤ In total 3 cups of liquid.
If it needs more salt, add a little. Beef broth powder and chicken soup powder are salty, so be careful with the salt!
